Digital Reporting of Cybercrime: a Prototype Tool for Law Enforcement and Businesses

To contribute to the development of the overall resilience of EU society towards contemporary cyber treats, CYBBAR has developed a Digital Reporting Tool. It is designed on the basis of reporting mechanisms on cyber incidents in place in Bulgaria, the Netherlands and Spain, with an emphasis on the needs law enforcement agencies identify with regard to the effective investigation of cyber incidents.

The pioneering tool also accounts for the reasons behind non-reporting by cybercrime victims. The purpose of the tool is to serve as an alternative reporting mechanism to enhance the level of reporting of cyber incidents among businesses while also supporting LEAs across the EU in developing an approach to more effective investigations of cybercrime.

CYBBAR also developed a mock-up prototype for the reporting tool. The prototype is accessible at: https://cybbar.eu/reporting-tool/.
